About Friends of Hopewell

Friends of Hopewell Culture National Historical Park partners with the park and the community in preserving and promoting the wonders and achievements of the ancient indigenous Hopewell people.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Friends raises tax-deductible funds and engages volunteers in accomplishing four major goals of the Park:

  • Education – Create school programs, events, and exhibits to foster awareness and appreciation of the park's remarkable American Indian heritage.

  • Preservation – Promote efforts to preserve archeological resources in and around the park as community assets, and seek inscription for Hopewell Ceremonial Earthworks on the World Heritage List.

  • Engagement – Engage members as volunteers for site interpretation, program development, and to serve as board members and officers.

  • Research – Support ongoing archeological research to increase our understanding and answer long-standing questions about the Hopewell culture.

We invite you to join us in achieving these goals!
